Japan Prefectural 12th general election of forty eight (48) members of the Okinawa prefectural assembly held on 5th June 2016. Okinawa Prefectural Assembly is the prefectural parliament of Okinawa. In 71 candidates, thirty seven (37) were from a various parties, including the Japanese Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party, that back Onaga. Nineteen candidates are form LDP itself, including three independents. Twelve (12) including four from Komeito, four independents and three from Osaka Ishin no Kai, officially declared themselves “neutral,” positioning themselves between the Onaga supporters and the LDP.
