Shivaratri is a great festival of both Shiva and Shakti. Aluva shivaratri 2016 Festival is very famous in Kerala held in Aluva Manappuram temple. Every year, in Magha Masam, Chaturdashi Tithi and during Krishna Paksham we celebrate Maha Shivaratri. This year shivaratri 2016 Festival is held on 07.03.2016.

Sivarathri festival celebrated in Aluva is popularly known as the Aluva Sivarathri festival. Aluva Sivarathri festival will be celebrated at Aluva Manappuram Siva temple at the banks of Periyar Riverat, which is known as the Dakshin Ganga. The Aluva Manappuram shivaratri Festival comes in February-March in Kumbam during the Mahasivarathri. Aluva is located in Ernakulam district of Kerala state.
Large number of devotees join in Aluva / Aluva Manal Puram for Aluva shivaratri Festival 2016. Special Pooja, offerings, idols abhishekams and many cultural programs will be held during the week long Aluva festival. Number of shopping stalls, exhibitions and devotional / entertainment events for children and adults will be organized at Aluva shivaratri Festival.

The Travancore Devaswom Board will make special arrangements for Aluva shivaratri Festival 2016 for devotees to arrive at the venue and peform the rituals for their ancestors at the banks of the Periyar river near the Mahadeva temple.

Nearest airport is Kochi Airport. Aluva is 13 km away from Kochi Airport (COK), Ernakulam, Kerala. There are regular bus service and train service from other major cities of the country to Aluva.
